Arts Volunteering, until recently was known as Young Arts, gives grants to arts projects in the local community. Working with schools, museums and youth groups, Arts Volunteering supports a wide range of projects. This work in creativity and arts education benefits the whole community.
Pre covid, we had an agreed three year programme of projects to support. Unfortunately, Covid torpedoed most of those plans, but we have still managed to pay for Wynstream School to have a visit from an artist to help with their work in the National Curriculum.
One of the organisations which we have helped regularly is Devon Young Carers (children who act as carers to their parents or other family members) by providing art classes for them. As this was impossible during lockdown, we paid for a number of ‘art boxes’ of paints, brushes and materials so that these children could do some art in their homes.
We have also worked with the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and have subsidised young carers taking part in their Arts Award Summer Programme.
More information and links to the websites of the various organisatiions mentioned can be found under the "Web Page Links" tab.
Currently we have no plans for arts volunteering projects.
